Important Message
While we live in a very safe area, neighborhoods like ours make easy targets for people looking to commit crimes of opportunity. We have to each take initiative on our own and protect ourselves. Some tips to make your property less of a target are:
* Always lock your doors. Make it habit. Many of these thieves are just testing door handles and move on if vehicles are locked.
* Never leave anything of value in sight within your vehicle.
* Close your garage doors. Even during the day. If you are not within sight of your garage, it should be secure.
* Light the exterior of your home. This may be one of the biggest deterrents. These criminals depend upon darkness.
* Be aware. You know what vehicles are regularly at the surrounding homes. If you see a suspicious vehicle take note of their tags.
